Our client was from out-of-state.  he was charged in County Court with DUI.  He had approximately 7 prior convictions from his home state.  After the case was pending a year, we finally came to jury selection where the state dismissed the case.  The entire year we told the State that they could not show the vehicle was operational when the client was arrested by the police.  Pursuant to our obligations under the discovery rules, we gave them sufficient information to investigate and drop the case.  They refused to do any of that until the case was set for trial.  we refused all plea offers.  Client left the courthouse and headed home a happy man with a valid license.
